Practical Information Before Boarding Your Flight
Visa: Bali is free to enter without a visa. However, a visa may be required depending on the length of your stay and the purpose of your trip. If you plan to stay in Indonesia longer than 30 days, or you are traveling for a different reason than tourism, you need to obtain your visa for Indonesia before you depart.
Climate: Bali has a warm, tropical climate with two distinct seasons like the rest of Asia: a wet season from October to March and a dry season from April to September.
Please dress appropriately when visiting religious holy sites. Visitors to Bali are expected to cover up and dress modestly when entering temples and other holy sites. Don't forget to leave your shoes outside before entering the temples.
PRO TIP! Wear an anti-theft scarf. This is a scarf you can use both to cover up and to protect your personal items against theft and pickpocketing. This scarf has two zipper pockets where you can store your cell phone, hotel keys, and passport safely.
Make sure you have travel insurance covering all bases.
Don't forget to have a medical kit with you. If you take any prescription drugs or unusual medicine, make sure you have the doctor's prescription with you and keep the medicine in the original boxes!
Protect yourself against pickpocketers.
Vaccinations: Consult your doctor to see what vaccinations he or she recommends you get before traveling. The standard advice is tetanus & hepatitis A & B.

Bali is close to the equator meaning the climate is warm and humid year-round. There's a dry season and rainy season- June to August is the dry season while November to March is the rainy season. The fall months and September are also good for visiting the island, being before and after the high season. The island is less crowded then and the prices go down considerably.

Hire a driver to take and guide you around the island: We had a wonderful guide & driver who took us to see the island's highlights. He introduced us to hidden gems tourists are not likely to find on their own.
Getting around this way gives visitors the chance to engage with the locals and get to know them beneath the surface. On the main street of Sanur, you can find reliable and friendly drives to take you around for as many days as you like. The prices are crazy low for all that you are getting in return.

Enjoy the beaches, watersports, and diving: Bali is home to amazing diving as well as snorkeling sites.
And don’t worry, I put him right back into the water, what an amazing creature!
Visit Pemerintah Kabupaten Tabanan temples in Mengwi: The holy temples and ornaments here are surrounded by water on all sides which makes the views absolutely breathtaking! They range in shapes, colors, and sizes. It is a very crowded holy site as local people come here to pray and conduct religious ceremonies so please keep it in mind and dress appropriately.

Visit Pura Besakih, the most important Hindu temple on the island: Located on the Western slopes of Mount Agung, this temple is often referred to as the mother temple of Hindu Bali, this stunning site is home to no less than 23 separate temples! Pura Penataran Agung is the largest and most important of them all, built on six levels, terraced up the slope…What a sight!

Visit Mandala Wisata Wenara Wana- The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary: This is the natural habitat of the Balinese long-tailed monkey, located in Padangtegal Ubud. It's home to around 750 monkeys. A fun and interesting combination of temples, nature, and cute wildlife.

Don't miss a visit to Tanah Lot: Tanah Lot means land in the sea, the name matches perfectly; a temple in the sea. The best time to visit this sensational site is before the sun sets and high tide moves in.
This ancient Hindu shrine is right at the top of a rock formation and is surrounded by water. Smaller shrines are located all along the way visitors take to explore the site. At high tide, waves flood the passageways making it impossible to cross. Take this time frame in mind when planning your visit, it is also the busiest time to visit. It is however worth it as the views are breathtaking.
At low tide, you can cross over to view the rock base up close. There's a fountain on there believed to be a source of holy water, local priests bless visitors by sprinkling holy water over their heads. Definitely a wonderfully authentic experience!

Visit the Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfalls: This area is home to four stunning waterfalls depending on the season.
Take scenic roads for glorious rice paddies view! Along the way, you can stop at one of the small family owned restaurants and taste local produce. You can find rice in 5 different colors!
