Cape Town Hot Spot Tip!
The Grand Africa Café & Beach is my favorite hang-out when in Cape Town! It ticks all the boxes: It's right on the water, stunning views surround you in every direction and the best part? You can hang out here with your crew all day long! Transition through the day while having loads of fun! This hot spot is a culinary destination, it offers a unique elegant beach-style dining experience. The restaurant is located in Granger bay right on the water and not too far from the famous V & A waterfront.
The Grand Africa Café & Beach
This hip restaurant has absolutely gorgeous ocean views to one side and the iconic Table Mountain and Lion's Head on the other. It's a place where cool & glamor meet, a winning combination as far as ambiance, vibes, and the crowd goes.
It's fun, elegant, and playful; from the interior design to the styling to the fashion worn. You can come all dressed up in a high-end car or come on your bike barefoot. We started with lunch then had cocktails on the beach at sunset, and moved on to dinner in the very chic and stylish dining area. We just didn’t want to leave!
It was here that I experienced the best sundowners as the locals call it, drinks while watching spectacular sunsets above Cape Town!
The menu is rich and delish! You can choose from an a la carte menu for you seafood lovers, featuring among other items fresh mussels and octopus carpaccio. There is a shared dining menu you can explore, their signature dishes include Caesar salad, Grand salmon salad, Grand burger, and the Grand seafood pizza. You also have a petit beach & sushi menu which was our choice, and it was yummy!
Reservations are a must and well in advance!
The website says the dress code is casual, depending on what time of day you visit, it's bound to a fashionable mix from boho style to designer looks in high heels, whatever your style is, it all fits together making it very colorful and interesting indeed.
Takeaway: This is a true must-visit restaurant and nightspot for beach-chic dining and lazy sundowners.
