Come prepared!
Visit Schönbrunn Palace ~ This was the main summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty which is also a Unesco World Heritage Site. 40 rooms of the palace's 1441 rooms are open to the public, including the private apartments of Franz Josef and Sisi.
Go to a Mozart & Strauss concert in the iconic and absolutely stunning Palais Palffy ~ It was built in the 14th century. In all honesty, I'm not a big fan of classical music or opera which is why this was perfect for me and people like me. I still wanted to experience the musical magic that took place here, only in a lighter version if I can call it that.
The performances all take place in the original Figaro hall- This is where Mozart gave concerts in 1762 together with his sister, he also performed here in private his opera "The Marriage of Figaro" for the very first time. We saw a performance combining classic pieces, opera, and ballet. The atmosphere and decor are so unique! If you are an opera lover.
Bonus tip ~ Visit the main opera house, the Staatsoper.
Enjoy a traditional apple strudel & city views on the Ferris wheel ~ As featured in iconic movies including James Bond- 'The Living Daylights'. It was built in 1897 rising to 65m, making the scenery from up here is spectacular!
Visit the Schloss Belvedere museum ~ This historic building complex consists of two Baroque palaces, Orangery, and the Palace Stables. It's one of the world’s finest Baroque palaces!
The grounds are beautifully manicured featuring fountains and Baroque sculptures, with landscaped gardens. Artworks by Klimt, Schiele, and Kokoschka; this place is worth spending a few hours exploring.
