20 X Dinner Hotspots In Amsterdam You'll Want To Visit!

Amsterdam boasts an extensive array of delightful and delicious restaurants, and the culinary scene seems to grow almost weekly! Whatever cuisine or restaurant style you fancy, you'll find it here, from cozy local hangouts and easy-breezy casual spots to Michelin-starred establishments and super-high-end venues. Truly, there is something for everyone!

In this post, I'm excited to share with you some of my favorite hotspot addresses—ones I believe you need to know about and experience for dinner at least once.

Restaurant BLACK ~ Immerse yourself in an easy-breezy dining experience accompanied by exceptional service within a picturesque setting. The Secret Garden ~ Located in the heart of Amsterdam, SECRET GARDEN is more than a restaurant, it is an experience where you can celebrate the flavors of Nikkei Cuisine in an amazing environment. Find yourself in an unparalleled exotic and vibrant atmosphere in between nature’s green and contemporary art.

Using a unique blend of Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions, SECRET GARDEN offers a mouth-watering culinary journey. They offer a wide selection of wines and cocktails inspired by the evolution of the Nikkei Cuisine. MUST VISIT!

ARCA - Located in the Art Hotel this restaurant is the Bomb! Set In a large open space that is beautifully designed, you are surrounded by fun and out-of-the-box art artifacts contributing to a fun yet sophisticated ambiance.

The menu offers innovative and modern Portuguese dishes, a concept by Chef Henrique Sa Pessoa. You can have drinks at the bar beforehand, downstairs they have a gallery that often has wonderful exhibits you can enjoy for free.

La Fiorita! An Italian restaurant that is stylish and cozy serving delicious food.

The Harbour Club This hotspot offers a unique night out experience, starting with the decor, the awesome vibes, the music, and of course the food.

They have two very stylish locations in Amsterdam to choose from in the East & South of the city. I love how they use graffiti here! This is the place to go when you're out with a group of friends or family.

Bar Alt This restaurant is run by Thomas Kooijman, this talented chef was voted into the top 10 most promising Dutch chefs of 2019. Here you'll have seasonal chef’s menus to choose from- 4, 6, or 8 courses, the menus are beer-food combinations to make it more fun and interesting.

Of course for wine lovers, there's a great selection as well. Outside the box is how things are done here, the menu changes often, it's an Asian Fusion meets traditional French cuisine, and then some. Also, each dish has its beer pairing, all are carefully selected by the sommeliers and chefs.

Their view: It's a world where food can’t do it without beer and vice versa. Cheers!

Carstens Brasserie This restaurant is located in the Victoria Hotel opposite the central station. Here they aim to take you on a culinary journey through the Netherlands by using Dutch ingredients throughout their menu which changes seasonally.

This concept was created by Maik Kuijpers who believes that we live in a country with so many beautiful products and these should form the basis of the menu.

Mama Kelly This hotspot proves once and for all that pink can be cool and trendy and not just for us ladies.

Here pink is not just a color, it's an attitude! Their signature dishes are chicken & lobster but there's so much more! A lavish High Tea for example in pink paradise with tea and countless matching treats. Fish, salads, desserts, and a shared dining menu.

The Bluespoon ~This restaurant is located in the stunning Andas Hotel right on the canal. The menu celebrates Dutch cuisine with a creative twist using seasonal local ingredients of course.

The service is very professional yet friendly and accommodating. The chef came out to us to ask how we liked the food as he made some adjustments to meet my dietary needs. You can choose the chef's menu of either five or seven courses with wine- pairing, or you could order off the menu; pasta, fish, meat, and veggie dishes. The bar area is very cozy and the cocktails are divine!

Oriole This bistro is located in the luxurious Grand Hotel and is beyond gorgeous! Here you'll find delicious Mediterranean food with a seasonally rotating menu. The vibe is fun and laid back yet in a sophisticated setting.

Jansz This elegant restaurant is located in the Pulitzer Hotel. Beautiful interior design, buzzing atmosphere, and yummy food; think oysters, fish, NY steak, and burrata. You can start with drinks in the Pulizer Bar and head over to the restaurant for dinner.

For the BEST Italian cuisine…

Impero Romano, Di Bruno, and Cecconi’s in the Soho House Cecconi's is located in the iconic Soho House, this is in addition to the original restaurant in Mayfair, London, and can be found also in Miami, West Hollywood, Istanbul, and Berlin.

The restaurant is very stylish, set in a unique 1930s Bungehuis building on the Singel Canal. It's all about modern-day classic Italian dishes, and the pasta is hand-made! Your evening will be elegant as well as relaxing.

La Nostra Gigi ~ 'Our Gigi, the most fun girl in De Pijp', is that sparkling, exciting, beautiful, wild surprise that Marie Heinekenplein missed. Italian food done well with unpackable service to match, and don’t get me started about the decore…It is DIVINE!

La Contessa ~ Another classy Italian delight!

Lolo ~ This gorgeous hotspot is where classic and modern Italian cuisine meets. This eatery is run by a self-proclaimed crazy bunch of passionate people from Italy. They have excellent wines and groundbreaking cocktails. It’s joyful, lush, and funky at night, with house-made playlists and a homelike vibe.

Satchmo This hotspot offers a great combination of food, style, ambiance, and music. Marble walls, velvet furniture, and chandeliers. Each week you can find on their website what music is coming up during the coming weekend. This restaurant is located right in the heart of the city in the historic ‘Brusse&Gransberg’ building, dating back to 1647.

It is sophisticated, it's cozy, it's vibrant, it's an experience!

Cafe Panache Panache means flamboyant, original, confident, and just a little reckless...This is the exact vibe this place gives!

The menu features seasonal ingredients and sustainable fish and shellfish, basically going for clean, simple, and fresh. The dishes are intended for shared dining. The house specialty? Cocktails by the pitcher.

The Lobby Fizeaustraat The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the V Fizeaustraat Hotel in a calm slightly less busy neighborhood of Amsterdam. The tradition of Food- Drinks- And coziness is what is guiding the team here.

PARK Café-Restaurant This hotspot is located in the Oosterpark, it's set in beautiful green surroundings that will make you forget you're in the center of the city.

The space is divided into different areas so you can select what fits your needs better as well as your mood. The menu is filled with yummy choices including a special kids menu.

Think fish, seafood, meat, and pasta. Top feature: On warm summer days, you have a large terrace you can relax on with a drink in your hand and views of the park right there at your feet.
