Where will you going next?

Top Travel Tips And Hacks So You Can Travel Less For More!

Start collecting Air miles: There are a few ways to go about this and they vary from country to country. In general, most airlines offer customers a way to become members. Once you have joined, you will acquire air miles each time you travel with them. Air miles are useful only if you fly very often with that one airline. You can sign up for an air mile card and connect your credit card to it, each time you pay for your flights (and hotels in many cases), you will collect Air miles you can later convert. With my air mile card, for example, each time I even fill up my car, I get air mile points. Check and see what is available in your area.

GOLDEN TIP: When choosing a credit card, shop around to see which credit card company offers you the best deal as far as Air miles and travel bonuses go.

This next hack might not make a difference every time however, it's well worth using. Next time you're searching for flights, change your online location, and no, it's not an urban legend, it does work. Many airlines price their tickets based on the location of customers. Booking my flight from Amsterdam will cost me more than someone booking the same flight from The Gambia in Africa for example.

Use search engines such as Skyscanner or Trivago to compare prices across the board. This way you know you're not missing out on any deal hiding there in plain sight.

Set up a flight alert: Google flight alert is very easy to set up and is an important tool to use when doing your search. There are also websites that specialize in this and update you about deals they find directly in your inbox. I use secretflights.co.il for example as I'm in Israel a lot.

If possible avoid flying on holidays and school vacations. These are the most expensive times to fly, and you'll be wise to avoid them when you can. The difference in prices will absolutely shock you!

Plan and book in advance: The sooner you book the cheaper it will be!

Fly from an alternative (smaller) airport: The main airports are typically more expensive to fly from. For example, flying out from Eindhoven instead of Schiphol in the Netherlands will be cheaper every time. All you need to do is add an hour and a half of travel time. I flew recently to Paris and chose to fly into Orly instead of Charles de Gaulle. The price difference was nothing to laugh at.

Flying away to yet another FAB destination!

These easy-to-use tips will make a difference in your travel costs, freeing up more cash for that additional vacation or city break!
