5 X Hidden Gems In Tel Aviv You Need To Know About!

#1 For the history buffs ~ Walk in the footsteps of the Templars. The Sarona complex is a Templar’s village above ground but there are also underground tunnels to walk dug by hand by German Templars arriving in 1871. These tunnels were even used by the Mossad, Israeli intelligence! Sarona Market is the largest enclosed culinary market in Israel. It is located on the southern edge of the city's Templer Colony restoration project. MUST VISIT!

#2 For the foodies ~ Experience unique flavors and tap into the typical vibes of southern Tel Aviv while walking through the Levinsky market. The narrow streets and alleys are filled with little stores/stands of traditional foods, and spices. If you like, there is even a marzipan factory! The small shops sell authentic delicatessen like Turkish bourekas which I personally tried this past summer, it was to die for!

#3 Wander through the trendy, slightly bohemian neighborhood of Florentin, coffee shops, independent art galleries, and communities of foreign workers and immigrants. A very different side of the city. Keep your eye out for the colorful graffiti!

#4 For the market lovers ~ Shuk Hapishpeshim: A 100 years old flea market in Jaffo. It really is a treasure hunt for antiques, art, handmade and secondhand items. Copper, jewelry, Judaica items, and tons of secondhand clothing and furniture can be found there. Don’t be afraid to bargain yourself a good deal, it’s how it’s done.

#5 For the sporty type ~ Explore Tel Aviv on a bike or an electrical step spread throughout the city.
